Rep TryoutsIf you are planning to tryout for rep, please register for rep because it includes the tryout fee. If you go through tryouts and rep isn’t the right fit for your child, your child can play house league and you will be refunded the difference.
U5 (born 2020, 2021 - Peanut aka Soft Lacrosse) will be similar to Winter Workouts except it will be on the arena floor at Mold-Masters. You can expect 1 hour sessions on Saturday mornings in May and June. The focus is on basic skills like: scooping loose balls, passing, shooting, cradling, and running with the ball. The skills are taught through fun games that the kids love like tag, races, obstacle course and the classic: Sharks and Minnows.  The cost includes a jersey, medal, and picture day. It really is an unbelievable deal and a great intro to organized sports for a lot of little ones so please tell your friends. We will take friend requests when building teams.

U7 (born 2018,2019 - formerly Paperweight) will offer two options - House League and Rep box lacrosse.

U7 house league will be Saturday mornings in May and June for an hour. Similar to Winter Workouts but with a scrimmage at the end of each hour. Registration fee includes: jersey, medal and pictures. Each hour includes skill sessions followed by a non-contact scrimmage. The goal is to build on the skills that were learned in U5 and prepare them for game situations. Great deal, tell your friends. Friend requests are accepted.

U7 Rep box lacrosse is the first exposure to competitive lacrosse games that have contact. Stick checks and push offs are ok. New rules state that NO cross checks OR body contact are allowed (like they were in previous years). It sounds scary but the coaches will prepare the kids, and they will learn how to give and receive contact in a safe manner. A typical Paperweight Rep season would include 2 commitments during the week (2 practices or a game and a practice) and a practice on Saturday mornings. There are typically 1-2 tournaments which are a super fun exposure to rep lacrosse for these little laxers. During games, players change when the buzzer sounds and the head coach is on the floor to help the kids out. Due to the additional floor time, tournament fees, Bulldogs shirt and shorts, and Rep Bulldogs jersey, you can expect the total cost to be somewhere between $500-800 depending on the amount of fundraising and sponsorship that your team is able to achieve. Much cheaper than rep hockey! Your child will be on the floor a lot and their skill development will blow your mind.

U9 (born 2016, 2017 -formerly Tyke) will offer three options - house league, rep field and rep box.

U9 house league will be similar to the U7 house league so you can read the message above.

U9 rep field lacrosse There will be a short field lacrosse season that starts early April and overlaps a few weeks with the box lacrosse season. The field season includes games on Saturdays during April and the first half of May. Field is a great way to hone your skills and build your endurance for the longer and more significant box lacrosse season. A discount will be offered to players who register for field and box.

U9 rep box lacrosse this will be similar to U7 rep, with some key changes to note. There will not be a coach on the box lacrosse floor and there will not be a buzzer to signal a line change. Cross checking is allowed. This is where lacrosse gets real! Players learn to change on the fly and take directions from the coaches on the bench. The practice and game commitment each week is the same as U7 but the difference is that there are provincials at the end of the season. Provincials are a competitive tournament during the first week of August in Whitby/Oshawa where you play teams from across the province who are ranked in the same division as you. The fees and everything else should be comparable to U7 rep. Popular opinion is that hockey players who play lacrosse in the off season tend to be better hockey players than those who do not - ask Wayne Gretzky or John Tavares.

The following divisions are similar to U9 Rep Box and Field described above:

U11 (2014 and 2015)

U13 (2013 and 2012)

U15 (2011 and 2010)

U17 (2009 and 2008)

*These ages will also have a house league program Saturday mornings.
